With a shop no bigger than a garage and two or three pieces of woodworking equipment, Wooden Design, Inc. was started in 1976, to provide custom woodworking and furniture to residential clients to the Washington DC area. Today our shop has grown to 16,000 square feet, 22 employees, offering design, engineering, fabrication, finishing, and installation capability. WDI produces custom architectural millwork, furniture, mouldings, doors, and other specialized architectural elements. Our projects, both large and small, have included offices, reception areas, stores, residences (as large as 20k square feet) and apartments. We have created wine rooms, libraries, staircases (w/custom railing, turnings, and newels), panelled ceilings, kitchens, and home theatres. Our work has been installed in some of the most elegant and prestigious homes and apartments in Washington, DC and a number of other spots on the east coast.
